London 8th March 2018 – Gazeley, a leading investor and developer of logistics warehouses and distribution parks, has today announced the completion and launch of Altitude”, a cutting-edge 574,000 sq. ft. logistics warehouse at its premier logistics and distribution park, Magna Park, Milton Keynes.

At 21 meters high, Altitude is the largest and tallest speculative logistics warehouse in the UK, providing the market with an effective distribution facility that sets the benchmark in terms of flexibility of design and specification.

Construction of the new development began in August 2017 and took 26 weeks to complete. The new building features an innovative design which provides occupiers with the highest degree of operational flexibility and efficiency. Some of its unique features include:


  • Enhanced mezzanine capacity and an increased number of pallet positions – at no extra cost to the customer.
  • Double deck loading doors in every position, at a ratio of one door per 4,500 sq. ft. -reducing time as well as financial and environmental operating costs for occupiers.
  • An increased incoming power load provision of up to 4 MVA to cater for the evolving needs of customers.
  • Designed to the WELL Ready Standard certification, making the building a healthier and more productive space for its occupants.

The warehouse also includes a host of state of the art sustainability features such as LED lighting, solar thermal heating, rainwater harvesting, power charging stations for electric vehicles and strengthened steel to incorporate Solar PV across the whole roof which allows a customer to save up to 1,300,000 kg of CO2 per annum.

Magna Park, Milton Keynes is strategically located between J13 and J14 of the M1, putting the site within a 4.5-hour HGV drive of 54.8 million people in the UK, 85% of the British population. The site also benefits from a strong labour force, with 932,000 working age people within a 30-minute drive.

The development is an established location for logistics, home to the distribution operations of some of the UK’s largest and most successful brands including John Lewis, River Island, Waitrose, UK Mail.
